May’n and Megumi Nakajima have made a name for themselves with Macross Frontier, and the upcoming Macross Delta TV anime is aiming to replicate their success with this new batch of theme song singers, who are most certainly following in the footsteps of their predecessors. While Minori Suzuki is seen as the successor to Megumi Nakajima, a young 15-year old singer named Junna is being touted as the successor to May’n, who served as the singing voice to Sheryl Nome.
May’n had previously provided the vocals for all of Sheryl Nome’s songs, and similarly, the young Junna will be providing the vocals for all of Mikumo Guynemer’s songs. Now 15, Junna first recorded “Ikenai Borderline” as a 14-year old middle school student, which makes her the youngest Macross theme song singer yet.
While Mikumo will be voiced by Ami Koshimizu, Junna will be the singing voice, which means that the character will have a separate seiyuu and singer, just like Sheryl Nome.
This was announced during the “Macross Delta Housou Chokuzen Runpika Joueikai” (Macross Delta Pre-Broadcast Runpika Screenings) event, which revealed that the anime’s OP theme song will be titled Ichido Dake no Koi Nara” (If I Love Only Once), and it will be performed by Walküre. Aside from Mikumo, the other seiyuu from the fictional idol unit will both be acting out and singing for their respective characters. You can check out the voice cast here: https://www.afachan.asia/2016/03/anime-macross-deltas-voice-cast-gets-official-confirmation/
Meanwhile, for the ED song, Minori Suzuki will be performing “Run ga …
The month of March is the fateful time when high school students in Japan have their graduation ceremonies and bid goodbye to their teachers and schoolmates from high school! It is probably a happy and emotional event for most high school students, as they move on to the next stage of lives. Of course, an emotional graduation ceremony is not complete without an emotional graduation song. Do you recall any popular graduation songs released in Japan in the recent years? If you don’t recall any, here are some tear-jerking graduation tunes you must not miss!
Sotsugyou made ni tsutaetai koto (Something i want to tell you before graduation)
This song is from the album, “Koku uta 2: Sotsugyou made ni tsutaetai koto” which was just released on 2nd March this year. It’s a continuation of the album, “Koku uta: Anata e okuru uta,” and both albums feature sweet love songs that portray how teenagers feel when they’re in love.
This song by Momoiro Clover Z walks us through the life of a high school student, from the point where they enter the unfamiliar grounds of high school, until the time they bid farewell to their classmates. With a choir backing Momoiro Clover Z as they sing the song, they are portrayed like a school choir performing at the high school graduation ceremony, and it would definitely be an appropriate song to sing on one’s graduation day.

Yes, you’ve read the title right, Funassyi, Funabashi City’s unofficial pear mascot, is going to do what many Japanese artistes are still dreaming of doing. That is, he will be holding a concert inside the hallowed halls of the Nippon Budoukan!
And yes ladies and gentlemen, this is not an April Fools’ joke… though it was announced last 1 April during a LINE live broadcast.
Called the Funassyi Summer Festival 2016 – Nashisai NASSYI FES. ~(『ふなっしー夏祭り2016 ～梨祭 NASSYI FES.～』), the Budoukan concert will be held on 23 August. After that, Funassyi will be holding another concert on 29 August at the Osaka-Jou Hall in Osaka.
For those wondering if Funassyi could hold a concert in the hallowed ground of Japanese music, the Yuru-chara mascot actually has two singles and one album (which reached #4 in the Oricon charts) already out. Though it did admit that it doesn’t yet have enough material to do a 90-minute concert during the live broadcast, which announced that it is going to the Budoukan.
Funassyi will be the very first Yuru-chara mascot to get a Budoukan concert, which has been a long time coming, as the lovable pear from Chiba Prefecture once said that it wanted to perform at the Budoukan back in 2013. Fast forward three years to now, and the mascot’s dream has finally come true!
Congratulations yellow guy!…

Gyokuro, considered the highest quality of green tea in Japan, and is described to have a mellow flavor.
All five flavors will be sold in a 10-pack box set worth 2,484 yen. Each set will contain two packs of each flavor, and will be available in various Kit Kat Chocolatory stores starting 1 April. However, people who visit the Shinjuku Takashimaya store on 25 March will be able to purchase these chocolates before its official release date.
In the words of Kongou from Kantai Collection: “Always got to make time for tea-time!”…
One of Japan’s greatest contributions to literature is the haiku, a type of poem which has 17 syllables in a five-seven-five pattern. A contest was recently held in Japan for haikus (not to be confused with the volleyball manga, Haikyuu!!), and it was held for otakus and was called the 11th “otaku senryu contest.”
The Top 10 winners received some very nifty cash prizes, and their poetry was all too hilarious, however, some of them hit too close to home. Here are the winners, as loosely translated by Rocket News 24 (Note that it’s nearly impossible to translate both the meaning and haiku format, so we opted to take some liberties with the 5-7-5 format in English.) #1. 100,000 yen prize
I turn off the computer
The beautiful woman disappears
Only my fat reflection fills the screen
#2. 50,000 yen prize
I have many hobbies
But talking to people
Is not one of them
#3. 50,000 yen prize
From my wallet
A ten-thousand yen bill disappears
Ah! And there goes another
#3. 10,000 yen prize
At the handshake event
The hot guy gets two minutes
Alas, I get five seconds
#5. 10,000 yen prize
The idea of buying something
On the spot, spur of the moment
Makes me laugh
#7. 10,000 yen prize
The year of Evangelion
Came and went
But the angels
Konin Todoke Seisakujo/Design Laboratory for Marriage Paperworks has been releasing official marriage papers for couples wanting to get married. After releasing their Sailor Moon Marriage Documents, it seems that they are expanding to the Vocaloid franchise.
In Japan, just handing a marriage registration to your local government office is enough for two people who love each other to get married, and no elaborate ceremonies, no rice throwing, no bouquet tosses, no priests, are required to be officially recognized as a married couple.
These new Hatsune Miku Marriage Documents are officially recognized by the Japanese government, which means that if you and your partner use these papers to file your marriage, it will be recognized. They come in two designs, “Hatsune Miku Loving Bride (Blue)” and “Hatsune Miku Loving Bride (Pink),” and both come in sets of three pages worth of documents for you and your bride to fill up. Each set of three documents cost 3,900 yen. These documents are illustrated by one of Miku’s most popular illustrators, KEI.
And if your order numbers ends in either 3 or 9, you will also get your own Hatsune Miku Bride clear file. The released last 9 March, or 3/9, which is Miku day!…
