Penang Anime Matsuri 2016: Magical Summer!!

This year’s Penang Anime Matsuri will be one of the biggest outdoor anisong concert held to date in Malaysia. The festival themed, “Magical Summer”, will take place at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Georgetown in Dewan Sri Pinang and the Penang Esplanade on 21 -22 May 2016.

Event-goers will be treated to an array of activities — from cosplay to anime screenings, panels, workshop, meet-and-greet sessions as well as the Biggest Outdoor Anisong concert in Malaysia.

GUEST COSPLAYERS

A team of celebrity cosplayers, Angie(Malaysia), Ely(Taiwan), Liui (The Philippines), Sansin(South Korea), Siu Tao (Hong Kong), Tomia (South Korea) and Ying Tze (Malaysia) will be onboard to help liven up the festival. They will be conducting cosplay workshops to help keen cosplay enthusiasts hone their skills.

Guest Illustrators

Guest illustrators, nob-c (Japan) and FeiGiap(Malaysia) will also be on stage for some illustration panels.

Chong Fei Giap is an illustrator from Malaysia, is a Co-founder of Running Snail Studio as well as Creative Director of design brand “Loka Made”. He is also a part-time teacher at The One Academy of Communication Design. His illustrations reflect streets of Malaysia and probably someone’s daily life. These illustrations are mysterious and nostalgic, yet feel very realistic.

nob-c is a character designer and illustrator. He is also the illustrator for PAM2016 main visual. He is known for his warmth in his illustrations and high attention to detail, with high proficiency in delicate graphics. He has worked on characters from …

AFA Manila Dates Set!

Philippine anime and cosplay fans are in for a treat as Manila becomes the fourth official location for the Anime Festival Asia Regional Circuit! AFAPH is slated for the 29th and 30th of February 2107 at the SMX Manila Function Rooms 6 to 10 in Pasay City!

AFAPH will feature mini events and special exhibitions by major Japanese companies and SEA regional licensees, the Philippine Finals of the AFA Regional Cosplay Championships 2107, and the very first I LOVE ANISONG concert in the Philippines!

The Philippine Finals of the AFA Regional Cosplay Championships pits cosplay pairs from around the country against each other in a test of crafting skills and acting prowess. This prestigious event will be judged by internationally renowned cosplayers KÄNÄMË⛧ and ~霊華~!

I LOVE ANISONG @ AFA PH will feature a stellar line-up of acts, including Galactic Fairy Sheryl Nome, all-girl underworld garage band Girls Dead Monster, and for a special two-night-only event — a reunion concert by the original members of µ’s!

Bakuon!! Anime Japan 2016 report

The new anime, Bakuon!! will be going on air from 4 April onwards! Here we bring you an official report of the “Kokujou Bakuon” event from Anime Japan 2016, as well as the Tokyo Motorcycle Show Stage.

Finally, at midnight on 4 April, the anime, Bakuon!! will be airing on TOKYO MX, Sun Television, BS11! Just before the start of the anime, there were special stage events for this anime at Anime Japan 2016, which was held from 25-27 March at Tokyo Big Sight. Firstly, on 26 March,

Firstly, on 26 March, Yumi Uchiyama (the voice of Onsa Amano), and Rikako Yamaguchi (the voice of Hijiri Minowa) made an appearance on the Bakuon!! Stage at the TOKYO MX booth. They shared with the audience that after being involved in Bakuon!!, they would sometimes look at motorcycles on the road while they were driving, and have become more interested in motorcycle shops. It really enhanced their interest in motorcycles.

In preparation for this anime, they also attended some lectures on motorcycles, and even had a ride on some of the staff’s motorcycles! The staff were also a motorcycle-loving bunch. After that, the two of them challenged themselves to a game on the official website, called “BAKUON!!” Which got everyone, including the audience, rather fired up!
