Makoto Shinkai’s Kimi no Na wa./ Your Name. anime film gets 2 new trailers

Renowned and critically-acclaimed anime director, Makoto Shinkai, is back with another movie offering, which is titled “Kimi no Na wa.” or “Your Name.”. Much like his previous works, this one promises to be quite emotional. The official TOHO movie channel has started streaming a new trailer for the new movie, which introduces us tom the two leads, Taki and Mitsuha.

A shorter version was also released, and it features the anime’s theme song, “Zen Zen Zense” by J-Rock band, RADWIMPS.

Best known for beautifully animated works like Voices of a Distant Star, The Garden of Words, and 5 Centimeters Per Second, Makoto Shinkai has made a name for himself with animated feature films. Kimi No Na Wa. will be the 42-year old director’s first new work since his critically-acclaimed Garden of Words. The film promises to be a “tale of love and miracles”, which will bring together Mitsuha Miyamizu, a girl living in a rural mountain area with her father, sister, and grandmother, and Taki Tachibana, a boy living in the bustling city streets of Tokyo. The two have never met, but have become connected by a dream of one another.

Last year, Shinkai announced that he was working on a new film, and a year later, this is what he was working on. My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO! OVA announced, to come bundled with PS Vita game

The lovable Service Club trio of Hachiman, Yukino, and Yui are back, and Iroha too. This is because there will be a new My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO! OVA coming this July, and it will be coming bundled with the My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO! PS Vita game.

Titled “Kitto, Onna no Ko wa Osatou to Spice to Suteki na Nanika de Dekiteiru,” the OVA will be set during Vol. 10.5 of Wataru Watari’s light novels, and will focus mainly on Iroha Isshiki. It will be released in Blu-Ray disc format and will be coming with the limited edition version of the game, which costs 11,000 yen. The regular version will cost 7,000 yen.

Meanwhile, there will be freebies for those buying the game in specific stores. Those who buy the game in Animate get a Yukono B2-size wall scroll, while those who purchase the game via Sofmap get a Yui B2-size wall scroll. The game is published by 5pb.…


Release Dates and Titles Revealed for Kuroko’s Basketball Trilogy Films

The 19th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump! magazine made several huge announcements for the Kuroko’s Basketball trilogy of animated films, which will be compiling the events of the Winter Cup from the TV anime and manga. The issue will be announcing the release dates and the titles for all three movies.

According to a leak of the upcoming issue, the first movie titled Winter Cup Soushuu-hen ~Kage to Hikari~ (Winter Cup Compilation ~Shadow and Light~), and it will open in Japan on 3 September. After that, the second film titled Winter Cup Soushuu-hen ~Namida no Saki e~ (Winter Cup Compilation ~Beyond the Tears~), will open in Japan on 8 October. Finally the third film and final film, which is titled Winter Cup Soushuu-hen ~Tobira no Mukou~ (Winter Cup Compilation ~Crossing the Door~), will open in Japan on 3 December.

The film trilogy will set up a fourth Kuroko’s Basketball animated film, which will be adapting the Kuroko’s Basketball: Extra Game manga, which takes place after the events of the main KuroBaske manga, and pits Team Vorpal Swords, comprised of the Generation of Miracles Members plus Taiga, against American street basketball team, Jabberwock.…


New Bungou Stray Dogs TV anime takes over Ikebukuro Station

The TV anime adaptation of Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa’s bestselling mystery manga, Bungou Stray Dogs, is one of the most anticipated new anime this spring 2016 season. To help promote the anime, 2-Metre tall ads can be seen littering Ikebukuro Station in Tokyo.

These ads can be found in the ad columns inside Ikebukuro station’s Central Passage, and it not only features the new anime’s characters like Osamu Dazai, Atsushi Nakajima, Doppo Kunikida, Rampo Edogawa, Junichiro Tanizaki and many more, but also the anime’s main visual.

The ads were set up last 11 April, and will only be seen at the Ikebukuro Station Central Passage only until 17 April. Meanwhile, the anime’s first episode was aired last 6 April in Japan.

The Bungou Stray Dogs manga follows Atsushi Nakajima, an orphan boy who was kicked out of his orphanage. While trying to find a place to stay, he saves a man who tried committing suicide. His name is Osamu Dazai, and he is part of a detective agency which specializes in supernatural powers, and he is hunting a tiger which has escaped and has wreaked havoc on the city, and it turns out that the tiger is also chasing Atsushi.…


Gintama anime gets very romantic with a new OAD featuring the “Love Potion” arc

The Gintama TV anime may have ended, and the manga may be entering its final arc later this year. However, the lovable Yoruzuya gang are coming back with a new Original Anime DVD (OAD), and it certainly spells some romantic trouble from our wacky heroes.

It will be titled “Love Potion,” and as the title suggests, it will adapt the manga’s “Love Potion” story arc from chapters 492-496. In this arc, a strange incense makes people fall in love with the first person they see, and in typical Gintama fashion, hilarity ensues as everyone becomes affected by it. The episode itself is scheduled to run for approximately 25 minutes.

The OAD will be coming bundled with the manga’s Vol. 66 Tankoubon compilation, which will be released on 4 November. The OAD-manga bundle will cost 3,400 yen, and will also come with specially illustrated Gintama postcards.…


New Berserk TV Anime’s premiere date and character visuals revealed

The new Berserk TV anime is one of the most hyped, and one of the most anticipated anime this upcoming summer 2016 season/ The latest 11th issue of Young Animal magazine has revealed that Berserk (2016) will be making its premiere on 1 July!

The character designs for some of the characters have also been revealed, including Guts finally donning that “Black Swordsman” look of his that fans have been waiting for for a long time.

Digimon Adventure Tri.’s third part gets a brand new PV

After the shocker ending to Part 2, a brand new PV has been released for the upcoming Digimon Adventure tri. Kokuhaku film. In the new movie, Koushirou and the rest of the DigiDestined struggle to solve the mysteries of the infected Digimon and the now-infected Meicoomon, who is terrorizing both the Digital and Human worlds.

The third film, which continues the adventure of the original eight DigiDestined children, who are now older, will open in Japanese theaters starting 24 September, before the general release via DVD and Blu-ray in 2 November. It will be picking up where part 2, Ketsui, left off.

Advance sales of the film’s Blu-ray editions will also be available when in opens on 24 September, in selected movie theaters.…


Musical anime, Starmyu, to get a second season

The boys of Starmyu recently held a special event for fans in Tokyo, and they surprised them by announcing that the autumn 2015 musical anime will be getting itself a second season, which has been slated for spring 2017.

Set in a school which molds its students for show business, Ayana Academy, Starmyu focuses on Team Ootori. The team aims to enter the famed “Star Frame class,” which is their school’s legendary musical department. However, its members often struggle to even be considered as candidates.

C-Station will once again be handling the animation production, with much of the main cast returning to reprise their roles.
